Prescot - Prescot is a town and civil parish within the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley in Merseyside, England. Historically part of Lancashire, it lies about eight miles 13 km to the east of Liverpool city centre. At the 2001 Census, the civil parish population was 11,184 5,265 males, 5,919 females . Prescot School - Prescot School is a co-educational comprehensive school in Prescot, Merseyside, England. It was previously called Prescot Grammar School. It was announced in late 2015 by the headteacher, Judy Walker, that the historic name and the link to the school s near half-millenium of tradition which had been deprecated between 2009-2015 by the local authority was being restored as a consequence of a successful application by the school for academy status. The official opening of the reformed school was on the 28th of April.%0AThe main historical source is local historian F. A. Bailey s 40 page pamphlet published to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the school in 1944 and reissued in 1971 under the title PGS 1544 - 1971 with postscripts by G. Prescot Cables F.C. - Prescot Cables Football Club is a supporter-owned football club based in Prescot, Merseyside. It was established in 1884 and has also been known as Prescot and Prescot Town. They compete in the Northern Premier League Division One North West and play their home games at Valerie Park Renamed IP truck part stadium in 2019 ,Prescot. They are a member of the Liverpool County Football Association.%0AThe Cables in their name came from the largest local employer in Prescot, British Insulated Cables, which was founded in 1890 as the British Insulated Wire Company, and later became part of British Insulated Callender s Cables.

Prescot Street - Prescot Street is a street in Whitechapel in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in east London. It runs between Goodman s Yard and Mansell Street in the west and Leman Street in the east. The area, including Ayliff Street, Leman Street and Mansell Street as well as Prescot Street, was built up in the seventeenth century as part of the development of Goodman s Fields by Sir William Leman. Prescot was the maiden name of Leman s mother Rebecca.In the early 2000s, the street was part of a large archaeological dig which uncovered large quantities of remains from the Roman period. The finds were on the site where the Leonardo Royal Hotel now stands, and formed part of the East London Roman Cemetery. Roman funeral urns were first discovered here in 1678.%0A%0AOf the original 18th Century housing only one has survived, at number 23. The London Infirmary was on the south side of Prescot Street, and the north side of Chamber Street, until it moved to Whitechapel Road in 1757 and became the London Hospital.
