Leighton Buzzard railway station - Leighton Buzzard railway station serves the towns of Leighton Buzzard and Linslade in the county of Bedfordshire and nearby areas of Buckinghamshire. Situated in the southwest of the county and close to the Buckinghamshire border, it adjoins Linslade and the name Leighton Linslade is sometimes used to refer to the combination of the two towns parts of this article also apply to Linslade as well as Leedon. For local government purposes, the town is part of the Central Bedfordshire district and is administered jointly with Linslade as the civil parish of Leighton-Linslade.The town is home to the Leighton Buzzard Light Railway, a narrow gauge heritage railway, one of England s longest at just under 3 miles 4.8 km long and oldest narrow-gauge lines, with an extensive collection of locomotives and rolling stock. The Great Train Robbery happened at Bridego Bridge just outside Leighton Buzzard. Leighton Buzzard Light Railway - The Leighton Buzzard Light Railway LBLR is a light railway in Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire, England. It operates on 2 ft 610 mm narrow-gauge track and is just under 3 miles 4.8 km long. The line was built after the First World War to serve sand quarries north of the town. In the late 1960s the quarries switched to road transport and the railway was taken over by volunteers, who now run the line as a heritage railway.

Dunstable Branch Lines - The Dunstable Branch Lines were railway branch lines that joined the English town of Dunstable to the main lines at Leighton Buzzard and Welwyn. The two lines were under separate ownership and joined just east of the Dunstable North station.%0AThe London and North Western Railway built the line from Leighton Buzzard station to Dunstable. This opened in 1848.%0AThe Luton, Dunstable and Welwyn Junction Railway planned a connecting line from the Great Northern Railway at Welwyn. The line between Dunstable and Luton opened in 1858. The company then amalgamated with the Hertford and Welwyn Junction Railway to form the Hertford, Luton and Dunstable Railway. The track to Welwyn was completed in 1860 and the line was taken over by the Great Northern in the following year.
