Halesowen - Halesowen haylz-OH-in is a large market town in the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley, in the county of West Midlands, England. It is considered as one of the largest towns in the United Kingdom without a railway station.%0AHistorically in Worcestershire, the town is around 9 miles 14 km from Birmingham city centre, and 6 miles 10 km from Dudley town centre. The population of the town, as measured by the United Kingdom Census 2011, was 58,135. Halesowen is included in the Halesowen and Rowley Regis constituency which is held by the Conservative James Morris.

Halesowen Town F.C. - Halesowen Town Football Club is a football club based in Halesowen, West Midlands, England. They are currently members of the Southern League Division One Central and play at the Grove.

Halesowen Abbey - Halesowen Abbey was a Premonstratensian abbey in Halesowen, England of which only ruins remain. Founded by Peter des Roches with a grant of land from King John, the abbey s official year of inauguration was 1218. It acquired two daughter abbeys and a dependent priory. It also acquired a considerable range of estates, mostly concentrated within the region, and a number of churches, which it appropriated after being granted the advowsons. The abbey s manorial court records have survived in large part, portraying a discontented community, driven to many acts of resistance and at one point to challenge the abbey s very existence. The abbey played no great part in the affairs of its order, although it was represented at all levels. At least one abbot attracted serious criticism from within the order, which attempted to remove him. Its canons observed the Rule of St Augustine to a varying degree, with some serious lapses, at least in the late 15th century, when the order s visitor uncovered widespread sexual exploitation of local women. The abbey was moderately prosperous and survived the suppression of the lesser monasteries. It was dissolved in 1538.

Halesowen Railway - The Halesowen Railway, also known as the Halesowen and Northfield Railway and the Halesowen Joint Railway, was a standard gauge railway in what is now the West Midlands of England. It connected the Great Western Railway s branch from Old Hill to Halesowen opened 1878 with the Midland Railway s Birmingham to Gloucester line at Longbridge Junction formerly known as Halesowen Junction near the present Longbridge station. The term Halesowen Railway is sometimes applied to the whole line between Old Hill and Longbridge but, strictly, it applies only to the portion south of Halesowen.

Halesowen Velodrome - Halesowen Velodrome is a velodrome located at Manor Abbey Stadium in Halesowen, in the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley, in the West Midlands, England. The 400m cycle track runs around the perimeter of a 350m athletics training track built for Halesowen Athletics Club.The athletics club was formed in 1939, and joined forces with local cyclists to form Halesowen Athletic and Cycling Club. During the Second World War, the club purchased former marshland to create Manor Abbey Stadium. Due to continued flooding problems, the track was raised by one metre during the 1960s it was resurfaced in 1992, and again in 2004 by Tarmac Limited with grant aid from British Cycling .During the summer months, the velodrome hosts a Friday night track league. Jessica Varnish is one notable rider to have developed her skills at the velodrome as a member of the Halesowen club.
